A Newington woman is accused of stabbing her boyfriend and assaulting her 89-year-old grandmother Thursday morning.
Officers were called to a home on Brookside Road around 10:30 a.m. for a report of a domestic dispute.
Upon their arrival, investigators determined that Debra Drena, 35, stabbed her boyfriend once in the abdomen, after a verbal argument.
The boyfriend suffered no life-threatening injuries, and was treated and released from an area hospital, police said.
Drena's grandmother also suffered no life-threatening injuries, but was not taken to the hospital.
Drena's mother saw the stabbing and fled the home, police said. She went to a neighbor's home and called police.
Drena was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree assault on the elderly, second-degree reckless endangerment, unlawful restraint, interfering with an emergency call and disorderly conduct.
Drena is being held on a $50,000 bond, and is expected to be arraigned at New Britain Superior Court on Friday.
